Abstract of Current Research:

The image of the Hasmoneans in the Greco-Roman world:

This study aims at assessing the views the Greek and Roman historians held regarding the Hasmoneans. It seems that their portrayal of the Hasmoneans was based on Jewish sources that were adapted according to certain Greco-Roman literary and political conceptions.
