Abstract of Current Research:
The image of the Hasmoneans in the
Greco-Roman world:
This study aims at assessing the views
the Greek and Roman historians held regarding the Hasmoneans. It seems that their
portrayal of the Hasmoneans was based on Jewish sources that were adapted according to
certain Greco-Roman literary and political conceptions.
